Converse Commercials
These are my first three films. All shot and edited in 2004 - for the new promotion from Converse after Nike bought them. None of these puppies won, but I still learned a lot - and they are my first official shorts. Don't judge me on these, though, please. Have fun.
Twenty-Four Seven

24 seconds
Large - 36.6 MB (click here to save as .zip)
Small - 18.3 MB (click here to save as .zip)

This was filmed and sent into Converse in September of 2004 on the streets of Northridge, Ca. It didn't win (none of these did) but we had a(n) [adjective] time working on it. It 'stars' Kevin Solis, Oliver Buzzelli, Erwin Solis, Julian Ellis, Margaret Sanchez, Andrew Rome, Katya Braude, Margarita Velikanov, and Robyn Chazen.

It portrays the lives of the people who wear Converse shoes, from getting up in the morning to getting home and sleeping.. all in 24 seconds.. sort of.

Directed, Written, and Edited by Asim Bharwani (me).

Special Thanks to everyone who partook in my first ever creation.

The Closet

24 seconds
Large - 29.8 MB (click here to save as .zip)
Small - 8.2 MB (click here to save as .zip)

This was filmed and sent into Converse in December 2004 in Oliver Buzzelli's house in Panorama City. It 'stars' Erwin Solis, Kevin Solis, Oliver Buzzelli, and Chad Boucher. There was a lot of controversy over this film, as there was a fight and the rights of the film was momentarily held. In the end, I regained the rights, yet didn't win a thing.

It starts off in the middle of the night when a kid with a camera randomly laying around hears a thump and wakes up the others in the room. It took many takes, surprisingly.

The original writers are Erwin Solis, Kevin Solis, Oliver Buzzelli, and Chad Boucher. The original film was horrible, in my eyes, so we re-did it.

Directed and Edited by Asim Bharwani (me).

Written by Erwin Solis (primarily).

Special Thanks to Erwin Solis, Kevin Solis, Oliver Buzzelli, Chad Boucher, and Julian Ellis.

Behind The Percussion

Small - 12.3 MB (click here to save as .zip)
This was filmed a couple days after 'The Closet', December 2004, in Erwin Solis's house in Panorama City. It 'stars' Erwin Solis. A smoke machine was used and was given to us by Erwin and Kevin's dad. We had to physically take the drums out of the house and into the backyard for this film. After this was shot, we then proceeded to create a cover of Korn's 'Right Now' that we had planned on performing at the Talent Show, '05.

The film is basically Erwin setting his drums and playing, and was done in one take.

Directed, Written, and Edited by Asim Bharwani (me).

Special Thanks to Erwin Solis, Kevin Solis, Gio Alonzi, Julian Ellis, and Jessy Neto-Gomes.
