The last time the
Lakers destroyed the
Clippers, I was fortunate enough to be sitting there in
Staples Center cheering them on.
February 23rd, it was a close game until the third quarter came rolling around, that's when
Kobe and the gang took control; it's also when Robyn and I went to get pretzels and milkshakes, they were yummy.
Tonight's game was kind of like that other game, we ended up destroying them in the third – a 16 - 35 quarter – but the pretzels and milkshakes were curiously absent.
What else happened in tonight's game? Every player on the Laker's current active roster scored, including 51 of the 118 points scored coming off the bench. And because the bench was on the court for most of the fourth quarter, every reserve was doing excellent. They made six of their eight 3-point shots! Lakers went 60% from the outside! The inside reserves were also pretty hot,
Ronny had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 blocks!
DJ also looked great out there, getting three straight jump shots! But the best part of tonight's bench? 6 of those 51 bench points came from
Coby Karl, giving him a new career high! The crowd went nuts! Mac from Sunny was in attendance too, and he went ballistic just like the rest of us! I've been saying it for a long time, and we all love the guy – that guy is one freaking hot shooter, such a beautiful shot!
And because the
Nuggets beat the
Spurs tonight, the Lakers are once again
atop the West, a half game in front of the Spurs! We have the same amount of losses, but we have one more win than they do. With just a little over a month left to go in the regular season, it really does look like we'll be able to keep that No. 1 title! And an even better part? The
Suns lost tonight, again. The Warriors are now only a game and a half behind them, which means the Suns are very close to not making the
Playoffs! Even though I'd love to play the Suns in the first round and beat them senseless, I'd rather them not make the Playoffs at all and go cry in the corner. That would be a great sight.
Shaq making them better? Wow, that trade was the dumbest move of the season. The Suns will not recover.
But besides talking about how great tonight's game was, I also wanted to to tell you guys where Ima and I are going on March 23rd. If you paid attention to the graphic, and squinted a bit, you'd catch the word "Warriors" in purple bold. Know why? Because Ima and I have tickets to the
Warrior/Laker game on Sunday, March 23rd! And they aren't just any old tickets... they're floor tickets! I like saying "floor tickets" because you automatically think of courtside. These sadly are not courtside, but like courtside, these are on the floor, in a way. We're sitting in Row K, which is basically the 11th row back. Now I don't know how this works because I've personally never gone down that far – wait, let me take that back, Ima and I went down at the Magic game before getting kicked out – but I assume it's the 11th row from the floor. We are seated in Seats 4 and 5, whether that's counted from the side or from the center, who knows – probably from a side. All we know is that the game is going to awesome and we have awesome seats. I'm debating whether I should bring a camera or not, either way, Ima will bring his for sure. And we'll be all Lakered up. I'll wear my Turiaf jersey and he'll wear his Kobe jersey. We're also going to a
D-Fenders game before it (free with a Laker ticket), and some
Fiesta thing before that – Kobe,
Pau,
Sasha, and Ronny are supposed to show up to that. Maybe Ronny will hang out with Ima and me cos of my jersey! We might even get to hang with them in the locker room before and after the game! Maybe
Phil will let us give the team a speech! haha. Anyway, watch the game on
FSN, Sunday, March 23rd at 6:30 – they'll be wearing white, but Ima and I will be wearing gold. If you wanna see a photo of the tickets, you can see it
here!
Before I go, I wanted to say it's the 9th anniversary of
Stanley Kubrick's death. He would've been 80 today. While he died young and unexpectedly, he died with many accomplishments – the majority of his films are without a doubt among the top films ever made. So even though the day is practically done, remember the guy and thank the guy, for without him, there's a big chance film would be very different today. And to add, I don't know if
Universal HD knew that today is Kubrick's deathday, but they're airing
Full Metal Jacket in HD right now. Just thought you'd want to know. Okay, I'm done. But before I go, I wanted to wish a Happy Birthday to our most favorite and most beautiful secretary on TV,
Pam! Happy Birthday,
Jenna! And also, Sasha Vujacic's birthday is tomorrow, or in a couple of minutes, so Happy Birthday to you too! Alright, I'm out. Take care everyone. see u.
