Before I go on talking about my awesome new keyboard and mouse, please tell me you caught tonight's
Laker game. Man was it fantastic or what?! We didn't have a lead until there were four minutes left in the fourth, the quarter in which
Kobe had
17 of his 34 points - all of which were in the second half of the quarter - and we followed it by going on a 14 - 0 run. Oh, and Kobe hit 21,000 points tonight, second youngest ever! Our defense was horrible though: we gave them so many points in the paint and so many points off of turnovers. At one point, they had four or five times as many fast break points than we did! Our bench was horrible too, only 9 points, and only 2 of which were in the first half; considering we average over 30 points a game, that's terrible. The big three though ended with 84 points, with
Fish adding 17 and
Walton adding 7 - and they had to as we ended with 117 points to the
Kings' 105. It was a great final six minutes of the half, I hope you caught all of it! Now it's three straight games at home! And make sure to catch Kobe's post-game interview after the jump!
Okay, now I'm ready to talk peripherals! Every year, my parents and I have a fuss over what they're going to buy me. One year it was a TV, the next year it was a watch, and last year it was a pony. Only kidding of course, who needs a watch? Anyway, this year I was all set on getting nothing (as I am every year) and it turns out I got a keyboard and mouse combo instead. But not any old keyboard and mouse combo, the keyboard and mouse combo I've been eyeing for months but have for some reason never bought for myself, the
Logitech LX 710! It's everything I want and more. Wireless, plenty of hot keys, plenty of customizable buttons, comfortable, and just damn beautiful. And I'm loving it! Except...
...except the mouse started acting a little funky a few days ago. It randomly lags and stops functioning, leaving me shaking it or lightly hitting it against my desk. It's starting to get on my nerves. I had to bust out my old Logitech wired mouse in order to make up for the annoyance, but as the kids say nowadays: once you go wireless with seven programmable mouse keys, you never go back. But never you worry! I called in
Logitech today and the guys over there are sending out a brand new one! But not only the mouse, the keyboard too - they said they don't like separating the twins at birth, shows bad character they said.
Anyway, that should be
DHL'd to me soon, Insha Allah, and then I will be a happy camper. A very happy camper, because this set rocks. Let me tell you some stuff that I did. I've made it so that when you click left on the mouse's scroll wheel, it works as the "middle button" (closing tabs, scrolling, etc) and when clicked to the right it is as if I'm pressing Tab on the keyboard. There are two other buttons under the scroll wheel that I've made as my back/forward buttons, used in a browser, in Explorer, etc. Then the actual middle button just scrolls and the two normal left/right buttons do their jobs too. It's pretty light and real sensitive, the mouse is. Fits in my hand real comfortably too. And the keyboard is just as nice. Huge "Delete" key, great curved keys that feel really comfortable, even a "Sleep" button (that I've reconfigured as the Turn Off button as I never put my computer to sleep). Then there are 12 freaking shortcut keys along the F1 - F12 row of buttons, some photo controls on the left, and some audio controls on the right. Also six quick-access keys at the top. It's a great present! I put together a few photos to show you guys, only 12 though, wanted to get my hands on it as quickly as I can. Check them out
here. Thanks folks for such an awesome present!
And that's that! A rockin' keyboard and mouse combo and a rockin' Laker game. But how about
Brett Favre,
retiring and all. Whatever, Brett. I'll believe it when I don't see you out there. But it's still a sad day, you're a great, great guy. You have too much fun, and everyone envies that about you. Though, I'm still a little bit happy because the
Saints have to play you guys in a few months, in New Orleans though. But it would definitely have been a much better game with you down there. And speaking of the Saints, we're going to be playing some of the crappiest teams next season!
AFC West and
NFC North! So hopefully next season will be good. And the offseason work that they're doing in New Orleans only makes us more hopeful about next season - they're finally focusing a big deal on defense!
We now have one official Gay in New Orleans! And they probably won't pick up
Aqib Talib from
Kansas in the
Draft anymore like I had hoped they would, probably won't need him though anyway, but I can still hope! Alright, I'm out. Before I do though, a very Happy Birthday to my pops, turns 61, so Happy Birthday, Dad! Take care everyone. see u.
