Creative title, eh? Why the heck is it raining? This makes no sense. Two weeks ago it was blazing hot, last week it was the best weather in forever, and now rain. I'm not saying I don't like it, even though I probably sound like I am; I love the rain. And for those of you that are leaving this weekend to go to college (it's college weekend everybody!), don't worry, you'll get to experience at least one more day of LA rain before you depart - it's supposed to rain a little bit tomorrow morning, but who knows how accurate that is as this rain is late. I took the opportunity of this rainy day, more like night, to take some photos. It hasn't rained in so long so this photo shoot was real fun. I stood outside with my camera on its tripod and a big umbrella covering us. Very cozy. I, and I'm sure so many others, love the way water looks when the shutter is open long enough, it doesn't even look like water! Not sure what it looks like, but definitely not water. There's one shot to the left. My photo shoot was cut short because my Mom got mad at me for standing in the street. Like any car would hit an umbrella - really.
Anyway, the real reason I sat down to post tonight is to link the new
Sunny eps! In case you missed last night's episodes, here's what happened. (Do I hear thunder?) The first episode of the night, episode 3, started out with Frank (
Danny DeVito, who by the way I'm surprised a lot of people are hating on the show, I love him) entering the bar exclaiming that his kids' (Dennis and Dee) mother is dead. He was ecstatic! The show revolved around Dee and Frank trying to get the money that the mother gave away because she didn't give anything to those two - she gave the house to Dennis though. Dennis and the other two guys meanwhile realized that they were total loners and had no friends, so they gave out fliers to collect friends. Sounds funny enough, but it gets even more hilarious after that, haha. Oh, and Dennis and Dee's real father comes back (he was in the final episode of season 2), who is played by the dad in
7th Heaven,
Stephen Collins (how did that show
just finish, I thought it's been over for a while!). In the second episode of the night, episode 4, the McPoyles come back to seek their revenge from what had occurred at the end of episode 2. They take the bar and the gang hostage - the gang has to fight for its survival and they decide that to survive, no one can die. Sounds like a plan to me! This episode, I felt, was much better overall than the first, but the first one's second half was great. But I don't really like how I'm comparing the two - they were both great; the only reason I and everyone else is even comparing the two is because we saw them back-to-back. If they were a week apart, we'd have nothing to say. But I love this back-to-back stuff, otherwise I'd tear my hair out in suspense. I think I love this show more than I do
South Park (which by the way has its Season 11 and a half premiere on October 3rd!). If you missed the two episodes, you can easily watch them from the Sunny page,
here. But of course catch them Thursday nights on
FX at 10PM.
Before I head out for the night, I wanted to give you guys another little treat. In one of my classes at Santa Monica, this lady came in (I don't even remember if she's in the class) and she said that if anyone has to buy books published by
Pearson (that includes
Prentice Hall and
Penguin Group and other jazz) that she has a code that will give us 20% off and free shipping via
FedEx (yuck!), because she works for Pearson. And since it's college weekend and the vast majority of you will be heading off to college in a few days (some of you already have), I thought I'd share this secret code with you. Sorry I hadn't posted it earlier, I hope you guys procrastinated on book buying. And not all books are made by Prentice Hall, so this code only works for those, but all of my textbooks were Pearson, so who knows. Anyway, here it is. "pearsonfamily07". When you go to the site, you can search for the title of the book, or faster if you know the ISBN, then type that in. Then you have to sign up and do all that stuff and when you get to the payment method part, it will ask you if you have a Coupon Code. It's optional, but you got that option. Type in "pearsonfamily07" (without quotes, obviously) and you will get a 20% discount. The free shipping is available to everyone, code or not, if you do Ground, but Overnight is only $10-$15 so what the hell! And if I bought all my books from them, I would've saved almost $50. But don't let this be your only resort of course. Scan Amazon and Half and see if there are any used for cheaper, if not, go ahead with these guys. I just hope it helps you guys out a little, textbooks can be killer for your wallets (or fanny packs).
Alright, that's all I got for you guys. I hope those of you that are leaving this weekend will stay safe in your new homes and that you enjoy yourselves. And remember to not forget about modenadude.com, I'm expecting to see a boost of nationwide hits. I've already got a boost from New York, San Diego, and the UK, oddly enough. I'm expecting more from LA and Santa Barbara. I'm not forcing you to visit the site every so often in your new homes, or even tell every single person you can about the site, but it'll be greatly appreciated, haha. Okay, that's all. Happy Yom Kippur to the Jews, we'll all be fasting together tomorrow, Insha Allah (I had the date wrong last week, I put last year's
Yom Kippur up), and remember Christians, go on a diet tomorrow. Okay, stay safe everyone. Take care. see u.
