March 2007, Finally

With Apologies to Jesse JacksonWhere the hell have you been? I can not believe you. I've been sitting here, waiting, for almost a month. Don't do that ever again.

That's your line. So, I've been gone. Why? Well, about a week before my birthday, just around the time of the last post in February, my computer finally got to me. Not the server, the local machine. It has been being kind of stupid for a month before it finally died and I was kind of ignoring it because I didn't have the time to actually sit down and figure it out. About a week before my birthday, FTP just stopped working. I was unable to install any software. I was unable to capture anything. It was pretty much dead. So, after a weekend where I tried my best to revive it, I decided that the best thing to do would be to just sell the parts on eBay and use it as an opportunity to upgrade to new technology. So, I did. I was without a computer for basically a week, but it was well worth the wait cos now I have this awesome new system, which is partly why I'm getting the new episode of South Park up so fast. I don't want to sit down and tell you about my new system now, why? One, because I want you guys to understand that in no way am I bragging or anything. Two (and most of you will like two, I'm sure), I'm re-coding the photography section. What the hell does that have to do with the new setup? Because one of the new 'albums' (one of the new words) will feature the new setup. But I guess I can give you guys a little sneak peek at the setup - I combined two gifts, one from my parents, and one to myself. I'm running on a 24" Dell monitor, on an Antec case, with an Asus board and Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with an ATI X1600 XT video card and Seagate Barracuda 3.0 Gbps SATA II which has Vista Ultimate installed. That was a mouth full and sure made me get tingles. And trust me, it was a long, I repeat long, over due upgrade. And don't worry, I saved 50% - anyone who knows me well enough knows that I am one of the stingiest.

Now before I show you guys to the South Park page, I want to briefly say something about this whole downloading thing; it's a new season of one of the shows I have on this site and I just want to say this for the record, and it probably isn't the first time, nor the last, that I am saying this. Every video that I put on this website, I put on to send homage to the creators. In no way am I trying to steal their creations and post in on this website for benefit financially nor otherwise. I am merely providing them as a public service so that if a person misses an episode that won't air again until next week, next year, or ever again, they will have the ability to download it here where the only price they'll pay is their time, as this server is slower than others (I host it on my own). I believe that if we pay for the Internet and all the other things that are linked with the Internet, then we are paying for everything, I see no need to pay extra for something that we have the ability to, and want to, watch for free on TV - but the problem with that idea is that it isn't readily available. And that's why I post videos here. I don't have any banner ads nor do people pay me to use my server, I gain no money from this site. I, and everyone who uses this site, admire the creators of these television shows, and will continue to do so - so don't sue me. Deal? Alright, now that that's over, on to the episode. It wasn't the best South Park episode in my opinion. There were some humorous parts - the idea of the episode was okay, like the beginning was pretty good, but the rest wasn't that great. Stan said what I felt, "I don't get it", why would this be a season opener? Perhaps to make up for lost time. For those of you guys that have yet to see it, Trey and Matt make fun of the whole 'nigger' (that's enough distance) fiasco with Michael Richards. I never touched that Michael Richards story when it happened, maybe because I am a huge fan of Seinfeld, and I won't now cos it's pretty old, haha. So the episode wasn't that great, but don't take my word for it (I share a birthday with LeVar Burton). Go here for the episode in all three flavors, DivX, H.264, and WMV9. That's all for tonight. But before I go, I wanted to mention Stanley Kubrick. He died eight years ago today. He's great, if you don't know who he is (where the hell were you last year?) then catch some of his movies. Oh, and Syracuse's in the second round of the Big East Tournament, playing Notre Dame tomorrow, Insha Allah, on ESPN (available in HD for the cool ones) at 11AM (Pacific). Oh, talking about time, one last thing, promise. This Sunday morning, we're supposed to change the time forward and hour, for those that take part in the ritual. It's a government mandate to change it earlier this year (and later, when it ends) to save power, so don't forget! Your computers (excluding Vista natively) and gadgets might, but you don't! Alright, take care everyone.
