PM - That title may be a bit misleading, let me clarify.
Stephen Colbert was on
60 Minutes this past weekend, like I explained earlier, interviewed by
Morley Safer. In it, Stephen explains to us things about the show that may not be understood by just watching it, very insightful stuff he shares; I thoroughly enjoyed it (and so did my Dad, we like to catch 60 Minutes together when we can). Last night,
30 Days aired its fourth episode in which a man with a seriously bad temper takes a new approach to life by taking part in this new age therapy that does away with "Western Medicine" and uses methods of almost cult like themes to relieve stress and sicknesses. In it, Tom Collett (the bad tempered fellow) has to live that life for thirty days. He is a divorced dad (seven year-old daughter) and has a girlfriend with whom he has bought a brand new house. His girlfriend, Misti, isn't too excited about the idea, as she is against these kinds of things that may change Tom's beliefs and potentially ruin their relationship, but that's what the episode's about, living and reacting in this new world that is unlike your own. The Stephen Colbert portion of this week's 60 Minutes can be downloaded
here, however the
Mike Wallace interview with
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's current president, is not on this site, I didn't get time to capture the beginning minutes of the interview - besides, the majority of it didn't seem really new interesting news anyway; my apologies to anyone who was hoping to snab that portion. The 30 Days' episodes can be downloaded
here, on the 30 Days page of this site. The H.264 version is not up as of yet, but I will be adding it tomorrow morning, Insha Allah - I ran into a little problem encoding where I typed in the wrong bitrate... haha.
In other interests, today is the one and only
Robert De Niro's birthday. 63 year-old. A living icon, may he stay with us for a long time, Insha Allah. Our own Marc Jackson (when I say our, I mean the small community of a school that I belong to at Sherman Oaks CES, and in no way am I suggesting [thanks Adam] that we own Marc Jackson as our property... just a figure of speech) claims to have shared an elevator with De Niro a couple months ago in a job interview or something of the sort - he's a reader here, perhaps he will indulge us in a little anecdote. I hope to Insha Allah meet Mr. Robert De Niro one day, and perhaps I'll ask him about Marc's encounter, among many other things. Well anyway in honor of Robert De Niro,
Goodfellas, of the great
Martin Scorsese [which on an unrelated note, spell check wants to replace with "corpses", haha] (and
Nicholas Pileggi) is on
TBS tonight (if you haven't seen it, Robert De Niro's in it)! According to the
Family Media Guide and
Wikipedia, Goodfellas is in the number three spot of having the highest number of f-bombs dropped in a single film, only beaten by Martin Scorsese's (again with Nicholas Pileggi's) own
Casino in first, followed poorly by
Jarhead in second. TBS had numerous ads airing today that showcased Goodfellas' swearing by bleeping multiple second series and having every other word in the ad be "freaking", haha - this'll be very fun. It's on at 9 PM, Insha Allah, after two episodes of
Friends - but that means it cuts into
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - but I'll have their season finale on the site by Saturday, as I'm going to
Six Flags Magic Mountain tomorrow, Insha Allah - I might have some pictures too! But if you can, try and catch it tonight to better the chances of coming back for a third season next year, Insha Allah, no offense to De Niro, Scorsese, Pileggi, or
Ted Turner. That's all I have for you tonight. Oh, Happy Late Birthday Pakistan and India, haha. Take care. see u.
