New Month
Monday, May 1, 2006

12:01 AM - Wow, I honestly can't believe you guys are still reading this. After last month, I thought everyone lost interest, and because AP Language hits its last day today, due to the AP Exam in a couple of hours, Insha Allah - good luck by the way; there won't be anymore words causing the hits to this site to literally cut in half. But I think it was necessary to take a break, because there were other things I had to focus on. For starters, I started working on D-Hall in the second week of April.

I was working fourteen to fifteen hour days, then I had to come home, eat something, watch something on TV, and then go straight to bed. The work hours were from 6 AM to 7 PM, but usually got out at around 7:30 PM - the earliest I left was 6:30 PM, and the latest, wrap day, was around 9 PM. The shoot went really well, I think. It really seemed like it was a professional film, although this was my first set. The director, Matt Mabry, was also the writer and producer, so that quickly narrowed down the creativity aspect of it having one guy know everything. I was the lowest of the low, a PA (Production Assistant). But I somehow was bumped up to directing PA by the end of the week - that's what they credited me as in the final crew list, so I'm really happy about that. The film looks great - lighting, acting, directing: all great. I brought my 350d to the set the second half of the week to be their set photographer as they didn't have someone to do it full time. They had Michael, the HD Manager (oh, it was all shot on the Panasonic HVX200, sweet) dropping by after he loaded the cards up to take some behind the scenes video and some snaps the first couple of days, but after I brought my camera, he didn't have to worry about it. I'm doing their site too. Two actually. One for the production company, Meadowknoll Productions, and one for the film - I won't start working on it til the end of this week though, Insha Allah, as I requested that I first finish my APs and SAT II this weekend - they of course, being the nice people they are, abided. I'll of course let you guys know the updates on that, Insha Allah.

The only other things that have been occupying my time have been school and work. School has finally given me something to do - the rest of the year has been sit around and pass time; finally I'm working. I was neglecting yearbook this year, mainly cos I felt as if I wasn't too necessary to the team - only needed here and there, so my page numbers always came at the last minute. History has been the only class that has made me work - Math isn't too difficult, just annoying. I'm not going to complain about IDs, cos I honestly enjoy doing them, but that is what kept me away from this site the most. Work wise, Uniq Arts & Décor has been occupying my time. I should've finished something a while ago, but because of the film and because of school, it's still not done. But I'm nearly finished, so no worries there. Speaking of work, phase two of D-Hall takes place during summer, in the middle of July through the middle of August, Insha Allah. I also got a new client for a site, Rit Z Rag - the people who bring you the purses made out of jeans. I've been in contact with that company for a very long time, and did some work for them in the beginning of this year, and talks of a new site have been going back and forth for a couple months, but it's finally final and I should be started that site along with the Meadowknoll Productions site and the D-Hall site, Insha Allah.

I've neglected to put up the South Park episodes this past month, but no worries, they're all ripped and ready to be up - and also the half season finale will be airing this Wednesday, like always, on Comedy Central at 10PM, Insha Allah. Hmm... what else? It's the NBA Playoffs and the Lakers made it to the seventh spot in the West - I'll go off into that a little bit later in the week (yes, Asim is going to speak about sports on this site later, haha). I'm using Dreamweaver 8 to write this stuff up, not much different than seven, except for the fact that Adobe has them now. The only thing that is annoying the hell out of me is that when you update a file and want to put it onto a server, it doesn't check if the same file with the same file size is already there so as to not rewrite it and put it there agian, it just throws everything on, so I need to put nearly thirteen gigs of information on the server each time I change a template - it's so damn annoying. Flash 8 changed a bit, it can now convert to flash videos, making my job a lot easier - but I haven't mastered it yet, haha. Nintendo revealed its name for Revolution: Wii - google it and find hilarious mocks, including this one, haha. And this month is a Lolita layout, Kubrick's sixth film, I took a different approach this month: a nice collage look, I think. Oh, I owe you guys two film reviews, haha - I promise I'll have those up later, Insha Allah. And I added a new index image that Robyn drew for me in Math last week, thanks. Am I forgetting anything? Well if I am, comment and I'll reply. Also, any questions or comments or anything? I haven't heard from you guys in a while, so I'm curious - just comment and I'll reply to those too, Insha Allah. Until we meet again, which hopefully won't be too far off this time, take care. see u.
