So sad and depressing. Eyes Wide Shut.

Monday, October 30, 2006 - Week 8's Words
5:00 PM - The words are up. Whenever I have a post that is dedicated to only the words, I get too lazy to speak about anything else. The Patriots battle the Vikings tonight on EPSN, Insha Allah (Bush did rather horribly this weekend, probably cos of the very sad USC loss; that loss by the way was perfect timing, cos right before the game, the people at FSN were talking how Booty is a better quarterback than Leinart was...) - and something I just realized, these words run parallel with football, ie it is week 8 in football and it is week 8 of the words (week 9 for school though). I just thought that is some information that is so important that all must hear about it. Okay, so here're the words, which by the way have a lot to do with plants, but Carroll didn't write anywhere about this being a 'botanical edition'... like always you can get them here or here:

Thursday, October 28, 2006 - ThaDogg
ThaDogg
9:15 PM - It is said that the majority of you drop by here on accident after you click Parent Directory from ThaDogg, and for that I thank you for sticking around. But for those of you who do not know, our very own Imadul [his last name, Kabir, is intentionally left out] has a little part on this server where he posts up his pictures. Now, for many months, he just listed pictures in the Index form and never properly had any kind of graphic interface causing people to have to guess what they wanted to look at based on stupid filenames. But people became used to that. Because this server is based from my room, it can get a little slow and Imadul never resized his files - which is good because that means you guys get 100% of the photo - so it was difficult at times to get the photos fast. Some people got used to that too. But I decided that it would be fun to make that graphic interface - so we are proud to introduce to you the brand new ThaDogg. It has been in the making for more than a month, and still is not complete because pictures are being taken everyday. As of now, all the photos up until June 2006 are there, the rest you'll have wait for - just the graphic interface you'll have to wait for, the old Index is linked from there. We put a lot of time into making this site, and again, it is nowhere near completion, so keep checking back for updates. For those of you that are not familiar, to access ThaDogg, all you have to do is type ThaDogg after my site, so www.modenadude.com/ThaDogg - it's that simple. So go ahead, head on over there and enjoy the hours of work wasted so that you guys can get your photos - photos that probably won't disappear for a very long time (if ever) because we have no intention of getting rid of that section, Insha Allah.

In other interests, South Park is up. I didn't really get to enjoy the episode too much - the big 150 - yet still, I didn't think it was amazing, pretty funny, but just average to me. Satan hosts a Sweet Sixteen Halloween party and Biggie Smalls keeps coming to see the gang. They parody The Three Stooges and MTV's Super Sweet 16, haha. Go to the page to check it out. The last thing I want to say is to not forget to set your clocks ahead one hour (for those who observe this blasphemic ritual). Remember during the Fall we spring forward one hour (and during the Spring we fall back one hour), so be sure to do that before you go to sleep or tomorrow you'll be screwed. And you don't wanna be screwed cos the Ravens are playing the Saints tomorrow on CBS at 10 AM (the Cardinals are playing the Packers too, but LA isn't getting that game...). Check NLF.com for the full lineup. Alright, Happy Daylight Saving Time! It was fun while it lasted, cos it'll never come back again.... Take care everyone. see u.
Monday, October 23, 2006 - Russell Peters
5:30 PM - So Eid is now coming to an end (did you guys miss me not at school? What? No I wasn't) - I hope all of you guys who got that day off enjoyed it, cos now school is starting again; now we gotta head over to that stupid office and give 'em a slip saying that we totally enjoyed not going to school and that we'd do it in a heartbeat again... or will we.... Okay, so if you've been going around this site, you'll notice I put up Russell Peters' stand up special Outsourced last week, but I decided to make an official post on it (after the South Park post... yes, I plan all of this). This Canadian Anglo named Indian is pretty funny - mostly if you're Asian. He makes fun of all things Asian - but I most liked his making fun of Indians... I love making fun of Indians. And no that doesn't mean I'm making fun of myself - I'm Pakistani - that means I like making fun of Sonia and Imadul (you're Indian to me, Imadul, haha). But this guy doesn't really focus on Indians, hell no - a lot of this special's time (a lot more than I would've expected) is used up making fun of Japs, Chinks, and Charlies... haha. And no, he doesn't use those words, those are from me (I'm full of racist jokes, don't be offended... please?). This video is by far the longest I have in my site, almost the triple of most television shows. But it definitely is worth the download, one because it's from the DVD so that means that it has stuff not aired on Comedy Central and that it's totally uncensored (and probably uncut, if that's your thing), and because Russell himself says to go out and by the DVD instead of uploading it onto the Internet. But I agree with him, go buy the DVD if you really like it, it still has some stuff that's not in the video, like some special features (but I can't vouch on how special they are, cos I didn't watch 'em yet). So get that video from the Stand Up section, I'll anchor it to his specific part for you, here.

And now I feel a little bad for those racial slurs. I can either make up for it by apologizing and saying I will never say a racial slur or I can continue to spread this "hate". I chose the latter. So instead of making fun of some other race, I'll make fun of my own. The funniest one is Jawa, like from Star Wars. haha. Jawa. haha. Okay, I'll add again by giving you this awesome Wikipedia of racial slurs, here - it's ordered by ethnicity so that you can easily click one and jump quickly to your victim, haha. Oh, right. The words. Week 7. Quite possible the sloppiest set of words so far. It's weird how only fifteen words can cause so much ugliness. So you can catch them here, or here:

My work here is done. And to the commercial's question. yes, it's Monday. Only one game on tonight, Giants/Cowboys on ESPN at 5:30, Insha Allah. You in? I'll just watch the first quarter - I can't miss another class (I cut last week's, for the Bears/Cardinals game, haha. It was worth it though). Alright, I'm out. Eid Mubarak again to everyone. Take care and come back soon. see u.
Sunday, October 22, 2006 - Eid Mubarak!
8:10 PM - Hey. I would've got this post out a couple minutes earlier, but I'm just so into Final Destination 2; it's on USA right now, and I'm cuh-razy about it. And I would've gotten this post out a couple days ago, but I guess you could say I'm still bummed out about that second half from the Bears/Cardinals game... can you believe it? And today's game against the Raiders didn't help either... if you didn't catch the game, let me just say that the Raiders aren't winless anymore.... Ah well, it was only a game. The rest of the games sounded pretty cool, but most of the good ones weren't even on! Whatever. Alright, well tonight marks the official start of Shawwal for most of the world - check here if you don't believe me - and Imadul brought to my attention Friday that it was our last fast at that school... pretty sad, eh? Well he's only partly right, he's right for him; I still am going to fast one extra day for a missed fast from two weeks ago. So to those Muslims reading out there, Eid Mubarak to you - and to you other people out there, as we go by the lunar calendar, the new month just started at sunset (moonrise), so as of our broken fast about an hour ago, it is officially Eid. Tomorrow, almost every American Muslim will venture to their local mosque (or to a huge hall, like the Convention Center, like Imadul, haha) and pray their Eid Salaat. So tomorrow, we not only get to eat when the sun shines, we also get to miss school and get money from our family; is that awesome or what? haha.

I also wanted to post that I put last week's South Park up. I put it up a couple days ago, but I didn't post anything about, so I will do so now. It was quite hilarious - I haven't seen it for a couple days, and anyone who knows me knows that remembered something from a couple days ago is equivalent to a couple months to most people, so I can't tell you exactly what happened. But I do remember that it was quite hilarious in how wrong it was. There were also some funny songs (by Butters) and Foley jokes (by the cops). All in all, it was a fun episode, so if you missed it and this little crappy synopsis didn't fulfill your South Park craving, download the episode via the South Park page on the site, here. That's all I really came on to post about. Oh, and also, this weekend is the last weekend before Halloween, so Comedy Central is showing Shaun of the Dead at 9 - Shaun of the Dead is one of the greatest films ever made, seriously. Two Brits, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg, are the masterminds behind the film. It is damn hilarious. It's a parody of Dawn of the Dead (in case you didn't get that...), which by the way USA is playing tonight at 9; it's the newer 2004 version, and it's the Director's Cut. Oh, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 hit XBOX Live Arcade this weekend... twice. So download it - it'll bring back oh so many good memories. And while ont he subject of 360, GameStops are having some Gears of War party tonight where they'll show off a video - but they have it up on YouTube, so no need going to that party. That makes three games I wanna buy before the year's end (the other two our Splinter Cell Double Agent and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (which I bought on eBay but has yet to come!)] Okay, so that's all I think I got for you tonight. Take care, and enjoy your non-sanctioned day off tomorrow, haha. see u.
Monday, October 16, 2006 - Week 6's Words
6:45 PM - What the hell are you doing sitting at your computer on a Monday night. Unless your monitor has an input in for your cable box, get the hell back to your TV and watch ESPN, it's the Bears/Cardinals game... Grossman just missed his first throw! And the second was almost intercepted by a Cardinal!! First down of the game!!! THIS FAR!!!! But for those of you not interested (HOW?!), here are those damn words:

Bring it on Bears! 20 yards to go! Go away. see u.

TOUCHDOWN!!!!
Sunday, October 15, 2006 - Get A Clue
5:00 AM - I'm up a little bit too early today - don't gotta start my fast until 5:30ish - but I decided that while I'm up, I should get some work done. I don't know if you guys even notice, but I put the South Park episodes up rather quickly, but never really tell anyone, haha. I'm just sometimes much too lazy to come up with these brilliant posts day after day (yet when I actually sit down to write 'em, I have quite a bit of fun) - so just check the show's page(s) for the episodes after they air, cos they'll most probably be there. But anyway, Episode 9 is awesome. It is classic South Park. We start off in Garrison's class, Mackey comes in and asks the girls to leave as he needs to talk to the boys alone. He spills the news. Someone just defecated in the boy's bathroom's urinal. Mackey was pissed-off. No one knew who did it. So they called in the Hardly boys - two young wipper snappers... hahaha... who always got clues, hahaha - they didn't mean that clue... yet Cartman brought to everyone's attention that it might be related, in some way, to the 9/11 attacks on September 11 (what a naming coincidence!) and how 9/11 was all a conspiracy, done by the government so that they'd have an excuse to go to war with the Middle East. Cartman had already convinced a few people, including the naive little Butters, haha. The next day, there's show and tell, Leeroy (who the hell is Leeroy?!) shows off his frog - not a toad - and then Cartman comes up. He has a little PowerPoint presentation - in it, he shows off a bunch of those points that all those people made up about how 9/11 was fake, all those things we've all read about on the Internet: that jet engine heat thing and the missing plane at The Pentagon. In it, he tells everyone who he thinks was really behind the 9/11 attacks... Kyle. Yes, the little Jew - excuse me, person of the Jewish faith - masterminded the attacks. Everyone started to turn against and be afraid of Kyle - until his buddy, Stan, figured out a way to get Kyle out of trouble - after, of course, he made sure Kyle was not in fact behind 9/11. So from there the show begins - Stan and Kyle go to get help to prove to everyone that Kyle was not part of the 9/11 attacks, the Hardly boys try to figure out who had their "poopscapade" in the boy's bathroom (as well as how the two towers had disappeared), and the Bush administration tries to cover up... all their cover ups (watch the episode and you'll understand) while Trey and Matt (and all the rest, of course) make them look like freaking idiots, hilarious stuff. This has to be the most suspenseful South Park episode ever, ever; filled with twists and turns that will make you want to watch it over and over (did that just sound like one of those 1950s movie trailers or what? I try, haha). So download the episode from the South Park page here.

Now to get away from last week's great 9/11 bash (which, by the way, I think was a great idea by South Park to focus on that whole conspiracy thing rather than some other stuff like you should see in serious dramatic movies about how the US knew that 9/11 was coming, because it was just so much more hilarious this way), it's a big football weekend. Yesterday, so much stuff was going on - I won't go into details, that's what Sports Center is for (haha) - you got the number two college team losing, you got USC almost losing, and Jarrett's new record; you got broken body parts (especially Peterson from Oklahoma's sucks cos his dad just got out of prison that day, but he did make some awesome plays), you got fights breaking out in Miami, and to top it all off, you got those BCS announcements in a couple of hours. On the NFL's side, our man Reggie Bush will Insha Allah be with the Saints today taking on the Eagles... I honestly can't wait for that game. Tomorrow there's Insha Allah going to be a game I'm anticipating even more, although I will only be able to watch the first quarter probably - Cardinals and Bears. That's going to be fun. It's fun watching the Bears play, but Matt Leinart will be with the Cardinals... who do you think will win, the new Cardinals helped by college football's Matt Leinart, or the team that is being compared to da '85 Bears? Is it Monday yet? haha. Oh, and Raiders or Broncos? haha. Okay, so times? Eagles/Saints at Saints today at 10 AM PST (in like five hours) on FOX (but there's that Seahawks/Rams game for others at the same time... I want to watch that one too...), Bears/Cardinals at Cardinals Monday Night at 5:30 PM PST on ESPN... and (I'm only saying this cos I mentioned it as a joke a couple lines up - don't kill me you crazy Raider fans) Raiders/Broncos at Broncos tonight at 5:15 PM PST on NBC, Insha Allah - for the full schedule, go to the NFL's Week 6 schedules page. So I'll see you guys tomorrow for the words, right? Enjoy your Sunday. see u.
Monday, October 9, 2006 - pwnage
6:00 PM - Asim's computer wasn't working last week.... He almost didn't put them up.... He's lazy.... What if he doesn't do 'em this week.... Uh oh.... - That had to be going on in of your guys' heads. I managed to fix my computer Thursday night (literally minutes before South Park's Thursday rerun) - don't ask me what went wrong. I think, but I don't hope, that it had a lot to do with a copy of Roxio's burning software I downloaded on Saturday and installed Sunday night. It went down for a restart, and never came back up. I managed to somehow get it back up, uninstall the software before my computer lost power on its own, and it was back to new. So lucky you. Here are the words, anthropological style (which dealt with marriage quite a lot by the way:

.doc | .pdf

So now that the users have received their file, it's time to talk about some other stuff. Wednesday night was South Park's 10th Season semi-Premiere (for some reason, they hyped this second half up more than their first half as the "ten years" of whatever) - one that was received very well by gaming fans everywhere. It featured the huge gaming phenomenon, World of Warcraft. You see, the whole gang play the game and find there is some idiot out there who is killing people without initiating a duel! AHH!! So the kids of South Park had to do the only thing they saw possible, create their own clan and defeat this ass. But they tried, and failed miserably. So the Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny decide to up their XP by killing off boars in the forest so that they can kill that half naked guy who's a good dancer. But while they're doing all that, they start to change, a change that every WoW player faces... they become fat and pimple-faced - and Cartman becomes even more fat than he already is. Now that's fat! So they go on to try and defeat the dancer with the help of Blizzard (to you noobs out there, Blizzard is WoW's developer) - it goes on from there. This episode will be hilarious for those of you who play WoW, and will also be pretty funny to any gamer, computer or whatever; as it touches the little quirks of gaming - something that I hope we can all relate to. But as a South Park fan, I don't think this episode was up to par with its usual satiric ways. Why not make fun of how ridiculous that no liquid on planes was? Or Lance Bass? Mel Gibson, again? (Or even a continuation of Cartman becoming good then evil, like alluded to a couple months ago.) Just because you guys were on hiatus during the summer doesn't mean you can't make fun of it. But don't get me wrong, this episode is really awesome, for the little things that it shows - but overall, not an amazing "season opener"... but how can you compete with killing off Chef? But the episode is up - just two days before the second episode, download it here (at the bottom) - with a small variation in the naming.

That's not all I got today. I wanted to quickly talk about this weekend's football. Stupid FOX didn't have the Cardinals' game on for us, we had the stupid Eagles/Cowboys game (haha, I called it stupid) - and it would be fine if it was any other week... but they started Matt Leinart! And he did pretty damn good (I watched it read it online). The freaking Cardinals almost won, but the Chiefs came up from behind (I obviously wanted the Cardinals to win, and my cousin lives in Kansas City and their kids love the Chiefs... if I talked to them Sunday, I would've gave them a piece of my mind... haha). It was 20-23, Cardinals had to kick a field goal to tie... with only a few seconds left of the game... it was missed by literally a couple of inches to the right! Now, who could've won in overtime? I think that Cardinals could've easily. Although the Chief's coming back had that going for them, the Cardinals disrupted it by taking it into overtime... I think it would've been a 2-3 and they might've become a little more confident going in to play da Bears next week. But we all know who'll win that game, right? I think SNL should do another sketch and Ditka and Wendt should come on. That'd be awesome - maybe when they go to the Super Bowl? haha. But how about the Saints? Did you see Bush's face when he made that touchdown? Priceless. I think they're going to beat the Eagles next week. Sunday, 10AM (PST), FOX; be there. And I'm sadly going to miss the Cardinals/Bears game Monday night... should I skip class? Perhaps. Alright, that's all I got for you now. A quick Happy Birthday to Shalhoub and Lennon. It's Guillermo del Toro's birthday too... but I haven't forgiven him for putting his Hellboy 2 before Halo. Halo is being directed by a no-named Neill Blomkamp... but he has been working for a while and has created some awesome 3D animation stuff (here's a short clip and here's a long reel). Alright, that's all for now. Take care everyone. see u.
Monday, October 2, 2006 - Week 4's Words
6:25 PM - I'm going to make this short and sweet because I am doing this via notepad.exe (like a true coder!) on my Mom's laptop. Remember how my computer was acting stupid yesterday? It is acting even more stupid. So I did the words and am writing this from her laptop, with the Packers/Eagles game on in HD - on mute though as I gotta do this then rush off to class tonight.

So here are the words:

.doc | .pdf

Okay, now I have to get to class. I'll try to make some sense of this computer problem tonight/tomorrow (so right now, you won't be able to Comments Unavailable post... I have no time to edit that page, cos I gotta leave now) so I can bring you guys your South Park Wednesday, Insha Allah. Alright. see u.
Sunday, October 1, 2006 - New Month
2:00 PM - What more can you ask for? This month's Kubrick film is The Shining, which is the month in which Halloween resides; the thirteenth day of this month is a Friday [by the way, watch Starz (300/301 on Time Warner Cable - that is, before the change) on that day, they're having an awesome slasher film marathon!], the first day of this month is when the rain started to officially show up... perhaps a post on time? I think this month is the longest time in which an older month's design stayed in through the new month - my only excuse is I fell asleep prematurely last night, my computer wasn't being nice to me early this morning, and I was playing the LEGO Star Wars II Demo on XBOX 360 - which occupied almost three hours of my time, that is one incredibly awesome game! But at least least I got this month's design up - let's talk about it a bit, shall we?

I'm proud to say that this month is the first month where nothing from the design was taken from the internet. Everything you see above was either made by me or captured from the DVD. I don't know why I didn't realize it would be a better idea earlier, but it was a great idea because as I designed the layout, I also had it playing next to me, which got me in the mood, and scared me all the same (after I captured the pictures I wanted, I skipped the first hour). There are probably eight images up there, so have fun trying to find them. One of them, I'd like to add, is super x-rated; it's not just nudity, it's damn disturbing - but what more would you expect from Mr. Kubrick? The font, as you'll notice, does not even resemble the DVD cover's font - which is black blocky letters - I decided I'd go with a look that reminded us of Danny's writing when he writes "REDRUM" on the door, I even put the 'D' backwards (but only the 'D', as there is no 'R' in modenadude.com... at least I don't think there is...). I'm not going to say it was the most fun I've had making a design, but it was the most time consuming - which I guess I can also use as my excuse as to why it took me until 2 PM to get this month ready. But I think the time was worth making the design, as I think anyone who has seen The Shining (whether you liked it or not), you'll definitely appreciate it. So if you haven't seen the film yet, you better. But let me warn you, it is probably not like any other film you've seen before - it brings insanity to a whole nother meaning. The documentary is also damn good - by Kubrick's daughter, Vivian - for the fans of Kubrick, which comes with the DVD (according to IMDb, only with the 1999 DVD release; but hey, what do they know?)

The last thing I have for you - which is completely unrelated, as will be the rest of the posts probably, haha - the Zune's price went official a couple days ago. $250. Which is exactly the price of recently lowered iPod. But with Wi-Fi, XBOX Live, bigger screen, and $15 a month unlimited music downloads... why would anyone not want a Zune (besides its hard drive, haha)? Take care. see u.
