AM - Two things. I've
been receiving some complaints that 29 megs is too much to
download for the Every Ten Minutes video, and that they want
it in .wmv.... I have been a strong believer in leaving
.wmv out of the world, although it has small file sizes,
but don't you think that's for a reason? Almost
all encoders encode it horribly. But since I love my readers
so much, I'll incorporate .wmv files so that everyone can
be happy, the Mac users have their MPEG-4 in H.264, the
PC users have their .wmv; and the rest of us use DivX,
or all, (so in other words, Linux has everything, haha).
Second, TBS ran
their commercial special. It wasn't as good as last year's
(that I saw two days ago by the way), but I am putting
up ten of the many they showed, and am happy to say that
I've brought them down to a considerably low low file size
for you guys, I have mastered the art of encoding in H.264.
I'm also bummed not that many Geico commercials
were shown, those have been quite sensational. I have added
a new section under the Videos section, rightfully called, " Commercials",
where I will periodically add commercials that I think
are worthy of watching, as well as giving a little bit
of commentary about the commercial. I have yet to capture
the great Time
Warner Cable stalking commercial, but when I do, Insha
Allah, I'll announce it. So check out that new
page, and enjoy
the new .wmv at the Every
Ten Minutes: The True Story page.
And with the new year just around the corner, I have a
little addition in mind come January 1st. And it's Stanley
Kubrick day on TCM!
And no, that graphic is not from 2001,
haha. Take care everyone, see u. |

PM - Remember that Christmas song
I told you guys about thirty-one lines down? Well Imadul
got it to me, and I put them into H264 and DivX for your
viewing pleasure. He originally used his Kodak camera (not
certain on the model number, otherwise I'd've included
it, of course), so the quality is not up to par with the
other videos here, so if there are any complaints, direct
them to Imadul.
First, some back story. It was Thursday, December 15, 2005;
our English teacher, Mr. Carroll, decided that since we,
as AP students, would do nothing on the last days of school,
we would be free to do whatever we wanted. Matt Strunin
and Anton
Yelchin brought their guitars and played as background
music through small productions, including several holiday
songs and an explanation of Festivus.
Later, Matt and Anton went up there to present their song
of Jesus' birth. It spans 5 minutes and 21 seconds, so
check it out. And in case you guys haven't yet figured
(because there are some that haven't), you have to unzip
the files in order to open them.

In other interests, tonight is the Funniest Commercials of 2005; I will Insha
Allah post up the ones that I find are funniest commercials from the night, not
the voted ones, those almost always suck. Oh, and also, It's Always Sunny
in Philadelphia has been renewed for a second season, with thirteen new
episodes, more on that when it comes. Take
care everyone, see u. |

PM - This month calls for
celebration! A couple things: we just/are/will celebrated/celebrating/celebrate:
Festivus (12.23.05), Christmas (12.25.05), Hanukkah (12.25.05
- 1.2.06), Kwanzaa (12.26.05
- 1.1.06), and Eid-Ul-Adha (1.10.06),
they're all really close together, I know. But, something
horrible happened today... I kicked my XBOX. It was on
accident! promise. This is how it went.
First of all, I have it standing
up, because it looks just
so freaking awesome. As I was getting up off my chair,
I swung it around... and my foot tipped it over. See those
batteries and that surge protector? it hit that and I got
this scratch along the top side (laying), here's a pic.
Another. And another.
But it gets worse. As I was trying to get that scratch
off... it rubbed off the surface of the table, and scratched
the other side! Here's a pic,
it's not visible in the photo, but trust me, it's there.
Ah well, I'll live with it, I sort of want to paint it
anyway.
Speaking about paint, do you guys like graffiti? Well some
kids graffitied random fences in our neighborhood, some
Christmas fun, go St. Nick! haha. Here's a pic.
But we painted it back this morning, ah those humorous
adolescents, such sweet children.
My original plan for Christmas for you guys was to put
up this video of Matt and Anton singing a border line anti-Bible
Christmas song, that a lot of us found very amusing. Imadul
has the video, and is having a hard time sending it over,
because of his internet. But I plan to get it and post
it up, it's some fun stuff!
In other interests, Kevin
Nealon is hosting TBS'
Funniest Commercials of 2005 on the 28th at 9 PM. I'll
rip it and post some of the ones that I thought were the
funniest, boy do I love commercials. I hope that Time
Warner Cable stalking commercial is. Alright,
take care everyone. see u. |

PM - Almost two months
in the making, and none of you even know about it! October
25, 2005, a fine da;, well, it was okay. We (Adam, Marc,
Bill, Jon, and I) gathered at Adam's house to complete
an AP History Powerpoint presentation. Marc was running
very late, so instead of starting without him, we embraced Pepsi and Microsoft's
new promotion to sell XBOXs, every
ten minutes. Neither of us had reserved any XBOXs, nor
would anyone come with me to stay up until launch day in
Palmdale, so we decided we would test our luck in being picked,
and headed over to Vons,
off of the 101 and Valley Circle Blvd, but we didn't just
get in my car and head over there like normal individuals,
oh no, we took a camera with us. Luckily, just that very
day, Bill and I had stayed afterschool to shoot some video
for Mr. Jackson. We couldn't give it back to him, as he left
the school, we took it with us to Adam's house, since I would
be taking it home for the night, and bringing it back the
day after. So, with our camera, a Canon
GL2 and other equipment,
we set out to make a short fun film, and win some XBOXs.
Everything went well, until they kicked us out... damn managers.
That brings me to today, I decided to finally edit the video,
(at first Bill was scheduled to do it, but since I couldn't
burn the DVD correctly so that his computer could read it,
[after about two tries] I decided I would finish the job).
Two months late, but, ah hell, just watch it. It quite possibly
might be the crappiest thing you ever see, since we went
into it totally nonchalant, and the whole thing was improvised
as we went along, most of it is done horrible on purpose,
haha. So head on over to the Every
Ten Minutes: The True Story page to find out
more about it. And although the graphic shows a 16:9 frame,
it's in 4:3, I cheated you guys... sorry. Take care everyone.

AM - I've been gone
for a while guys, I mean mentally, physically I've gone nowhere.
I mean I've been everywhere, Tokyo, New York, London, Germany;
everywhere. And the best thing is, I was there with the company
of some beautiful, fast, loud cars... while being very sick.
Earlier this week, I purchased Project
Gotham Racing 3,
from the GameStop on
Balboa, because those guys on Tampa (not the ones in the
mall) have been total assholes to me, and I vow to never
go back there... ever. So, for those of you who haven't
gotten around to purchasing PGR3, or missed out on the
stab-tacular new XBOX 360s at Best
Buy on Sunday (no really, people
were stabbed); I've decided to round up some videos for
you guys, cos well, I beat the game. In the clip where
I'm racing (my Challenge
Stradale,
go Modena!), I keep looking around because of the ghost
I'm trying to beat... I have this nervous habit of doing
that every couple of seconds. And also, the soundtrack
in the back isn't at all from Microsoft,
it is from a band called Clutch,
and it is a downloaded copy, so that's why Big Time I gets
cut off in one clip, haha, that I'm happily streaming from
my computer.

pgr3_cars_modena_race.mov | 50 Seconds | 14MB | save as

Dude! PGR3 is awesome! It blew me away! Not as much as
Call of Duty 2, but as far as car games are concerned,
this one is the mack daddy - please forgive me. I mean,
I'm still a young kid, but I've played my fair share of
racing games, and well, this one truly shows XBOX's next
generation console-abilty, I tip my hats to you Microsoft.
It's just the little details that made me really excited,
like the crowd, there were people that reacted to how the
cars drove by, and some of 'em took pictures. Another thing
that just blew my mind is the accuracy in the location,
Vegas is just like it should be. The car handling takes
a hard note from Forza in amazing simulated gameplay. And
the car choices, awesome additions. The motion blur is
also quite a touch, when rotating the camera at any point,
the little motion blur is just a fun sight. The photo mode
is also amazing, how fun was it to take pictures? Just
check out that photos clip. Well, anyway, rent or buy this
game, quick, you'll probably be able to beat it in a weekend,
but it will take you a long time to thoroughly beat it,
and XBOX Live will always be fun. Alright guys, take care.

AM - Looks like today's
is going to be an awesome day, why? Instead of playing some
Call of Duty 2 this morning, I decided to check out my early
dose of Engadget, and found almost every piece of new this
morning exciting! So, instead of killing some jerries, I've
decided to post up some awesome news that some of you might
get a kick out of.
For you camera buffs out there, Photocritic has
a post up about making your own macro lens... with a Pringles box,
yes, the same laid back Pringles potato chip/tennis ball
company. You would think the whole thing is a gimmick, but
the lens actually works, amazingly. The guy is using a Canon
20d so, don't think it's some cheap SLR that he's not afraid
to tamper with. Check out the link here. |
|
Second post up for viewing
is an update on the awesome ASIMO. As most of you should know,
the ASIMO is a robot, made by Honda. Although it isn't the
best in the market, actually one of the lamest in the market
compared to some things Sony ( Qrio)
has been coming up with over in Japan, but it has my name in
it, so it's cool. Engadget has some cool commentary on the
somewhat redesign of ASIMO, so I think it is worth a read.
Or if you're interested in buying one of these $20k beauts,
check out the Honda link here. |
|
We haven't
been hearing much from the BD/HD-DVD front, have we? Well
TDK has just announced its design for their BD-R and BD-RE
(aka, RW). I think they look pretty hot, and am curious to
see what the price on a 25GB / 50GB disc will be... *chills*.
Check out the Engadget link here,
and the TDK link here (you
do know how to read Japanese, don't you?) |
|
And lastly, the screen on
the Vision:M and the screen on the iPod with video debacle
is now over. A dude named Vizion at Flickr has snapped some
side by shots of both players, as well as an Apple Cinema Display
in the background. I'm not going to tell you who wins, but
I'll give you a hint, I'm satisfied with the outcome ;). Check
out the Engadget link here,
and the Flickr archive here.
Alright guys, I hope that was fun. It was really useless having to relay this
information to people that probably aren't even there, haha. Check out Engadget
from time to time, okay? Okay. see u. |

PM - The last Carroll test of the year, 2005, Week
14's words are up. Get them in their usual format, back
to the old Word before Reader, and I got a bit lazy on
number 28, ah well:
.doc | .pdf
In other interests, the actor to portray Luna Lovegood
(one of the coolest Harry Potter characters) will be announced
sometime in January 2006, Insha Allah. Those WB casters
have narrowed it down to five, but those five have been
told not to release their information or pictures to anyone,
so it will be quite a surprise. I find Luna the best character
of the books, and personally cannot wait to find out who
will play her in the fifth film (which will hopefully not
suck as bad as the fourth did) due out June 2007, Insha
Allah (and yes, I'm aware most of us graduate that month,
I'm not a dolt), and the filming should start February
2006.
Also, I've been informed that I will not succeed in life
because I never went to preschool, and so the world will
now perish. I really do hope the rest of you did go to
preschool so everyone else's lives work out well. And also,
the golden XBOX 360 faceplate has depressingly not gained
any bids, damn cheapskates. I have also hit a nice four
stars on DV
Guru, and because of this, I shall reward myself
with a nice thumb
drive. Have fun everyone, see u. |

PM - I was
accidentally watching Fox News when they were doing some
segment on Richard
Pryor,
I was watching, but wasn't taking anything in really, because
my cousin was discussing something with me. But then I heard
them bring up someone else, and they said "Also dying
today",
and I jumped and wondered why they had chosen the word "also",
must they mean Pryor had died as well? I was shocked, I am
reminded of his "I
ain't dead yet". I headed straight over to IMDb,
and sure enough, those dudes had it up there, and accepted
it. I then went into the living room to tell my dad and
uncle, who are also fans of his. Well anyway, may he rest
in peace because he was loved and adored by many. Rent
one of his
films, or his stand
up specials, if you haven't heard him.
Take care everyone; keep your loved ones close, but your
enemies closer... but what does that have to do with anything?
ponder away, haha. see u. |

AM - Bloody Mary,
the season (9) finale of South Park, wasn't all too amazing,
but it did have a good message at the end, but I'll leave
that to you guys to find out for yourself. But, because
it was a season finale, I decided to make the H264 version
at full resolution, but I had to downsize the quality a
bit to get it to 300MB, but you can enjoy your season finale
of South Park at 720x480. Also, since season 9 is over,
and we all have a long time until season 10 rolls around
(March 2006, Insha Allah), I'll try and get the whole
series of South Park onto the site, but because I am receiving
no money in return, and it is only advertising Comedy Central
and South Park, I see no problem with it, So I hope they
don't either, haha. Well, in the season finale, Randy gets
drunk while the boys learn that they need to have
"disaprin," taught by their karate master, yet
Randy drives them home, and gets pulled over by a cop.
He is then sent to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) where it seems,
it is a religious cult, and is then diagnosed with his
disease, alcoholism. Meanwhile, in a nearby area, there
is a statue of the Virgin Mary, and it is bleeding, out
its ass. Many people see this as a miracle, and come to
this area to get blessed by getting blood splattered on
their face, the adventure continues from there. Here are
your flavors:

PM - Well you know what
they say, There's nothing like gold to get to the bottom
of a gamer's heart... or something like to that. Well
guess what showed up on eBay a
couple of days ago? You guessed it, a solid
gold face plate for the XBOX 360 running
for $36,000 with FREE shipping! The guy who is selling
it claims that it is almost a kilogram of pure gold, and
well, he has 99.5% positive feedback, so why not trust
him? Check out the
page,
it's turning into some really fun Web Log page, the seller
keeps updating it, haha. I wonder if it will sell... I'll
keep you guys posted, Insha Allah. Have fun everyone,

4:30
PM - I just couldn't resist.
I am total anti-iPod, and since this new iPod with video came
out, and ignorant idiots are starting to buy it to play videos...
that have to be encoded in H264... I have hated the people
with iPods even more since most of them don't use the capacity
of the player and buy it either for its shiny-ness or to waste
money. Well, I'm here to show you all another product from
Creative Zen that will make you think twice about getting that
shiny iPod, the Creative
Zen Vision:M. Please, check out those specs, DivX and XviD,
plus MPEG4, at max resolutions at 30GB HDD and
for $330... why even buy an iPod? This is no competitor for
those awesome PMPs out there, like the Vision or
the A2,
just for the iPod with video.
No disrespect to all the iPod owners out there, since I know
a couple people who use their max capacity (and even need to
clear up space to fit it all in their iPod), I'm just angry
at the people who don't do that. Stay tuned for the season
finale of South Park! Have fun everyone, see u. |

PM - The semester is moving
on quite rapidly, don't you think? I sure do think so, it's
as if we just entered school a couple days ago. The first semester
is almost up! But let's get to what you probably came here
for, Week 13's words, the same format as always, except, I'll
put the Reader file first, just to jazz it up. Take care everyone,

AM - Does this background
look like it has a hint of red in it? I think it does, perhaps
I should tweak it a little. Anyway, Episode 13 entitled Free
Wilzyx, and spoofs Free
Willy in which the boys go to Denver's Sea
World,
Sea Park, and talk to a whale, Jamboo (like Shamu). Jamboo
tells them that he is from the moon, and needs to get back
to his wife and three kids. Yet, a trick is played on the
boys, Jamboo isn't really talking, it is the announcers that
stay behind in their announcing desk.... The boys take it
very seriously and get the whale to the moon, with the help
of the Mexicans and their MASA program, featuring the amazing
performance by Manuel [thanks Monny]; and the A.L.F. (Animal
Liberation Front) come to help as well. In the end we have
a freed whale, happy kids, and laughing announcers. Entertaining
episode, except I noticed one thing. They used Jamboo instead
of Shamu in Sea Park instead of Sea World. But, in the four
times they alluded to the killer whale, one time (the third,
I believe), they say Shamu... script supervisor anyone? I
only have it in DivX right now, and should have it in its
H264 glory later today. For those of you newbs in the audience,
to get these softwares for different OSs, head on over to
the South
Park Page and read the top.

AM - I'm not really writing at 12:00 AM, I'm actually
writing at around 8 PM on the last day of November, but
it was to make this site a bit organized. Are you wondering, "What
the hell is up with the writing, and humongous color change?!" Have
you ever seen the film, Magnolia?
I guess this month is promotion for the film, by Paul
Thomas Anderson, because it premiered in the US and
Canada in December 1999. It's a great film, and it's his
third, he grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and this
film take place there too. I am not going to run through
a synopsis, but just go watch it, and hopefully, enjoy
it. Have fun everyone, see u. |
